How do you prevent my photos from being downloaded?

On Glass, we place an invisible layer over your full-size photos that blocks right-click and drag-to-desktop actions. It’s a lightweight deterrent that helps prevent casual downloads. But like all websites, your photos still need to be downloaded to your browser to be displayed. This means that a technically savvy person can still access them if they’re determined.

Despite what some other platforms claim, there’s no true way to stop image downloads on the web. That’s why we focus on fostering a respectful, photography-focused community instead of relying on illusions of protection.

If you want to keep your profile more private, you can set it to “members only” in Settings. This disables your public profile and hides your photos from search engines and non-members — they’ll only be visible to active Glass members.

We also actively work to prevent AI scrapers from harvesting photos for training purposes without permission, using a mix of server-side protections and bot detection strategies.

Your work is yours — and we treat it that way.
