Settings and account

Settings control how your account looks, how Glass contacts you, who can see your work, and what happens to your membership and data.

Find Settings

On the web, select your profile picture and choose Settings. On iPhone, iPad, and Android, open your profile and use the Settings control. On Windows, use the same menu as the web app.

Update your account details

Open Account to change your email address or manage sign-in methods. Email changes require confirmation at the new address. If the message does not arrive, check spam and verify the spelling before requesting another.

You can add Sign in with Apple alongside email sign-in, or add an email address and password if you began with Apple. Keeping both methods gives you another way back into the same account. If you use Hide My Email, Apple's relay address may be the email attached to Glass.

Edit your profile and visibility

Open Edit Profile to change your display name, username, pronouns, profile picture, bio, or URL. Your profile currently has one URL field. Changing your username also changes your profile address, so old links stop working.

Open Privacy to choose whether your profile and photos are public on the web or visible only to people with an active paid membership. Comment visibility is controlled separately. See Your profile and Privacy, safety, and your data for the full behavior of these settings.

Choose notifications

Open Notifications to choose which activity reaches you by email or push notification. Available events include appreciations, comments and replies, new followers, mentions, Highlights, and occasional Glass news.

Push notifications also depend on permission from your device or browser. On iPhone and iPad, use the system notification settings for Glass. On Android, use the app's notification settings. On the web or Windows, allow notifications for glass.photo in your browser and operating system.

Change appearance

Open Appearance to choose a light, dark, or system-matched theme. iPhone and iPad also offer alternate app icons, with an additional set for Patron members. Appearance changes stay with your account where the platform supports them.

Manage your membership

Open Membership Settings to see your plan and billing provider. Manage renewal, payment details, and plan changes with the provider where you subscribed: Glass on the web, Apple in App Store subscriptions, or Google Play in Payments & subscriptions.

Cancelling stops future renewals but keeps your account and work. When the paid period ends, the account moves to Viewer. Deleting your account is permanent and is not a substitute for cancelling App Store or Google Play billing. See Membership and billing for provider-specific steps.

Download your photos

The self-service archive contains the original files behind photos you posted. It does not currently include a separate export of profile details, comments, appreciations, or other account activity.

  1. Open Profile > Settings.

  2. Choose Download Data on the web or Download Photos on iPhone and iPad.

  3. Wait for the private download link sent by email. It may take up to 24 hours and expires after seven days.

Request the archive before deleting your account if you want to keep your uploaded files.

Delete your account

Account deletion removes your account, photos, posts, Series, profile picture, and associated account activity. Glass cannot restore them after deletion finishes.

On the web, open Delete Account in Settings. On iPhone and iPad, open Profile > Settings > Delete Account.

Deletion is scheduled seven days after confirmation. You can return to the same screen and cancel before the deletion date. Website subscriptions stop renewing when deletion is scheduled, but App Store and Google Play subscriptions must be cancelled with Apple or Google.

For retention details and privacy questions, read Privacy, safety, and your data or email legal@glass.photo.
