When we take a portrait, we're given a story.

Not us wanting to feature all the portraits from Glass last month. Not us stressing over just how many to include. And certainly not us seeing the effort and care you put into each and every photo you submitted. We have a soft spot for people (and portraits) in this community. It comes with the territory.
A portrait tells us a story. Of hope, heartache, happiness, or happenstance. Of a normal day in the park or an intense but well executed hour in the studio. Of a long shift, a quiet rest, or a moment of pure joy. There is always a narrative with portraits. Sometimes it's short and sweet; often it's wildly complex.
And while photography can be a rush to the "next moment," when we take a portrait, we are given a story. We bear witness to an experience with another human. It's worth slowing down to ponder that fact and realize just how profound it is. Portraiture is a special one, friends.
In this Spotlight, we're sharing a few (ok, a lot) of stories we think you'll enjoy. We had a great month, no?
