Craig, the elephant said to have the largest tusks in Africa, walks past the Kilimanjaro on his quest to find the best trees to feed from. There are only around 20 “Supertuskers” left on the planet, most of them in the Amboseli / Tsavo ecosystem of Kenya. Poaching remains a constant threat to their existence, but recent anti ivory trade regulations in China will hopefully support their survival. 

Ok one more…🌖🌋 - can’t say it was coincidence the moon came up behind the volcano at just the right angle and a good time when I was there 😉.

🌋 ☁️ I know the theme is water, but it’s time for some 🔥! Spent 36h in Iceland to experience the eruption of Fagradalsfjall - here’s a vertical drone panorama of the area, showing how the volcano is feeding its own little cloud.

The surreal National Park of Nairobi, bordering the skyline of Kenya’s capital. 

Kyambura Gorge in Uganda. The starting point for finding the Chimpanzee family that lives down there, see my previous post. It’s a 100m deep slice carved into the flat savannah of the Queen Elisabeth National Park by its name-giving river, which brings with it enough water to sustain the tropical rainforest within the gorge. 

After tracking them for over an hour in the Kyambura Gorge of Uganda, we found a wild family of Chimpanzee and were able to observe them in the wild for an hour. 

When those brown eyes look at you. Shot in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, part of the Virunga mountains, which are home to 500 of the 1000 Mountain Gorillas left on earth. 

🦁 👀 🌳 Shot in Uganda’s Queen Elisabeth National Park, famous for its tree climbing lions. 

Does it qualify for the action category if the elephant with the largest tusks in Africa walks past you kneeling on the floor, at a distance of maybe 2 metres?
