Visual weight is how strongly an element in a photo pulls the eye. Every shape, tone, and color in a frame competes for attention, and some win faster than others. A large dark rock, a face, or a small patch of bright red all carry more weight than a plain wall or an empty sky. Weight is not the same as size: a tiny saturated dot can outweigh a huge gray area.
