When Categories were first introduced, they were designed as a simple but powerful way to share your work and find photographers to follow. We started with a set of 24 broad, accessible subjects like Landscape, Portrait, Architecture, and Nature. The goal was to create themes that worked for a wide range of photographers, and allowed for diverse, discoverable perspectives.
This concept grew into “Monthly Categories,” an on-going exploration of various subject matter and technique. But this means many members, especially newer ones, haven’t had much opportunity to participate in or fully explore the initial set. Plus, these foundational categories haven’t had their moment in the… ahem…spotlight.
So we’re bringing a few back, front and center.
We want you all, regardless of when you joined, to participate in something essential to Glass, rather than missing out because of timing. And we’re kicking it off with an oldie, but a goodie.
May’s monthly category is Black & White!
Monochrome. Desaturation. No color. Truly, no further introduction needed. Looking forward to seeing your fresh take on this fantastic category!
