From the humble rectangle to the mighty snub dodecahedron, shapes of all kinds are everywhere. In photography, they often visually anchor an image in obvious and/or subtle ways. Pleasing landscapes or perspective shots are usually built on a triangle. A perfectly balanced flat lay is driven by deliberate geometry. Spacial rectangles often give the Rule of Thirds its power.
This month we're asking you to examine shape within your images. A quick perusal of any category tells us this won't be hard. Excellent examples of shape already exist in this community, from unexpected portraits to the more obvious subset of architecture. We figured it was time shape had a space of its own.
Don't be afraid to go literal. We want shapes in all forms. Get creative. Get novel. Think about the box...and outside it.
Also, if you successfully photograph a snub dodecahedron, you win at Glass for March!
