We've entered into the knock out stage of the World Cup. If you've been paying any attention you'll find the global spotlight shining on football.

We're witnessing collective pride and shared effort in a time when individual brilliance can only take you so far (even Messi assists, y'all). We're watching cultures come together for a common goal (pun intended), treating one another with curiosity and kindness. We're seeing incredible skill on the field, and lovely dynamics off it. The other end of this is on display too: the mistakes, the agony of defeat, the anger of a bad call, the spectacle of irate fans. (Yes, we're talking specifically about team sports, but we've got soccer on the brain. Can you blame us?)

Sports are an intense narrative developing in real time, which makes for an excellent subject. So, this July we're reintroducing our Sport category. Photograph the athletes, the fans, the victories, the defeats, the rituals, or even where everything happens. It's all fair game.

Let's get swept up in the excitement. Go team!
