Glass in the App Store

Over the summer, Apple reached out to gauge our interest in an App Store feature. We thought, "Sure, I guess. Could be fun." Just kidding. We've been featured before, so this invitation was exciting! It also gave us another chance to think about what Glass represents today. There's no shortage of opportunity to reflect this season. It's been a good year.

Since starting in 2021, the Glass image pool has grown into something pretty incredible: thousands of photographers sharing work from all corners of the world, each with their own perspective. So, how on earth do you distill this idea? How do you even begin to showcase the breadth of talent on this platform? And, with so much automation and algorithmic noise surrounding how we make and experience photography, what theme that sits firmly at the center of it all?

The Human Element.

The people, places, stories, and ultimately, the results of what happens when a person picks up a camera. The tools matter, but so does the person behind them, and the community on the other side of the image.

That's what made this feature fitting for Glass. We've been included alongside Leica and (Not Boring) Camera in Apple's editorial space as part of a broader creative flow.

Shoot. Edit. Share.

The share part? That's us! Glass is where finished work gets to live, be seen, and become part of something bigger. With Apple's recent creator focused announcements, the timing couldn't feel better. But makes us happiest isn't the hardware. It's seeing Glass and the work of our members represented as part of this creative story.
