We understand the Great Outdoors isn't "great" for everyone. We get that some of you would rather be indoors, warm cup in hand, curled up with a good book or familiar show. Forests can feel overwhelming and chaotic. Perhaps a little too alive, in a creepy crawly sort of way.
But most of you felt right at home in the forest. We thought you would.
Your submissions last month opened us up to a world teeming with life. So many elements of this ecosystem were photographed. Close-ups of natural details revealed structure within the chaos. Towering trees offered a welcome and quite literal sense of perspective. Calm, quiet paths invited a contemplative stroll. And, a few of our favorite images included heartwarming human elements, a nod to the idea that time spent in a forest might actually be good for us all, indoor enthusiasts included.
However you approached April’s category, you made the forest feel like a place worth visiting.
