Monthly Category Favorites — Flat Lay

When we started Flat Lay month, we expected to see lots of product shots. We thought we'd see commercial work meant to sell or convince, professional examples of thoughtful styling and great exposures.

But in typical fashion, this community offered something a bit deeper. Little details of being human were presented in such elevated ways. Lists you wrote became visual stories. Meals you prepared became memories of sharing. That cute cup of coffee transformed into a self-care exhale. And a few of you managed some punny portraits, one of which we shared below (we see what you did there, Paco).

Shadows, silly little life objects, and even literal garbage were presented as something more. Small things, adding up to important ideas. You made us notice the task at hand (whether it was a walk, a chore, or time with family) as more than just another to-do. To put it directly, you sold us on something money can't buy: presence.
