Everyday and Extraordinary with Richard
Nearly two years of quiet, daily magicSpotlightsThere’s something quietly powerful about Richard Weingarten’s photography. A sense of stillness. Of reflection. As fellow member John put it in his nomination, “There’s a certain je ne sais quoi… that makes you feel some peace of mind for a minute.” And we couldn’t agree more.
Richard’s daily photo project is nearing a remarkable milestone, 677 consecutive days and counting. That’s nearly two years of showing up, camera in hand, and finding something worth capturing. It’s no small feat, and it speaks to the kind of dedication and curiosity that drives so much of the work we admire.
His style is eclectic, yet cohesive. Often moody, often quiet, always intentional. It's almost graphic in the quality. The more you scroll, the more you start to see the body of work come together. It's a testament to just getting out there, each day, and making something. He’s shot with everything from a Leica Q2 Monochrom to a Nikon Zf to his iPhone 16 Pro, and the consistency across tools is a testament to his eye, not just his gear.
There’s beauty in everyday practice, in seeing what you might have overlooked, in making space for one photo at a time. And Richard reminds us of that, every single day.
Take a look. You might feel that je ne sais quoi too.
