August's Monthly Category — Cloud
Cloudy with a chance of photos.

This month, we've got a new subject moving in. You've requested it, and now it's here. Cloud is August's monthly category.
Simple? Yes. Basic? Nope!
In case you don't remember from primary school, clouds are fine particles of water or ice crystals light enough to stay airborne. When enough of those particles gather together, they become the dynamic formations we watch overhead. Cumulus, stratus, cirrus, and nimbus are the four main cloud types, each with variations of their own. But this is Glass, not science class.
More than a lesson in thermodynamics, clouds are fascinating to photograph. Soft and delicate or dramatic and imposing, clouds present a myriad of shapes and textures. They also produce endless weather moods. Peace in the first light of morning. Passion in a fiery sunset. Mystery when they lay low over the landscape. Trepidation as thunderheads build in summer. And no two skies are ever the same.
It's August. Look up. Share what you see.
