1 of 100 diptychs I shot on Double X cinema film to create a new body of work. It will be part of a much larger project called The World Today managed by Obscura DAO. It includes work by 138 photographers across 90 cities all over the world. Together we created a snapshot of March 2022 on this planet. It will be released as a 10K+ image NFT project, mounted as an exhibit, and later on it will be a book.

Hi everyone, I thought I’d introduce myself since we’re all new here. My name is Wesley and I’m a photographer and curator based in Amsterdam and NYC. My first photo book is called NOTICE and it will ship in two weeks.

NOTICE is was created in Vancouver, BC, over the course of 123 daily photo walks between April 4th and August 5th, 2020 during the first few months of the pandemic. The book explores how the intentional slowing down of time can help us be more creative and accomplish bigger goals. 

In this period I had to change my photographic practice. Before the pandemic my practice focused on running around busy city centers to stop interesting people for a chat and a portrait. Now locked down in a quiet Vancouver suburb this was no longer an option.

Instead I went on a slow and meditative photo walk for about three hours a day, totaling around 800 miles (1200km) in this small neighborhood, teaching myself how to notice all the small wonders and bits of beauty I’d previously rush right by.

Now it’s a book, available at NEWSTYLE.co and shipping next week. There’s only a few more copies left of our first print of 1,000 but a second print is coming soon. ❤️
