Today it’s 80 years since the Assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, the Operation Anthropoid.

On 27 May 1942 in Prague, Reinhard Heydrich – the commander of the Reich Security Main Office, acting governor of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, and a principal architect of the Holocaust – was attacked and wounded in an assassination attempt by Czechoslovak resistance operatives Jozef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš. Heydrich died of his wounds on 4 June 1942. He was one of the most powerful men in Nazi Germany and an important figure in the rise of Adolf Hitler.
