Just outside on of the two visitor centers for Dinosaur National Monument. Profoundly bleak and lovely.

‘Life… finds a way.’ My wife spotted this plant growing out of the rocks on a nearly-sheer cliff face at the McConkie Ranch Petroglyphs site. “‘Life’,” she quoted, “‘finds a way.’” (Dinosaurs on the mind? Yes.)

A smoky near-sunset shot in the petroglyph rocks in NE Utah back in mid-July. I still haven’t found a way to get the white balance on any shot I’ve taken actually capture how orange the sky gets in those conditions.
